This girl is a catch!!

Any undesired behavior she has is ridiculously easy to manage, she understands Place (down/stay) and can be stopped typically with a simple "Nope".

Temperament: Typical Mastiff - Super sweet, affectionate, good natured, dignified, wary, determined and calm.  Not so typical, she lacks confidence, is insecure and uncertain.

Her insecurities manifest into sometimes barking at and running away from humans, sometimes barking in the backyard in response to other dogs barking, or if she sees a delivery person approach the house and I miss the opportunity to communicate with her.
She will also cringe when approached too fast and your arms are outstretched.   I've seen this with my personal dog, I believe it stems from a low defense drive that was never counter conditioned.  It comes and goes with her and with consistency and not coddling it, I think she'll overcome it just fine like my girl did.

Loves humans most of the time, especially men!  While she has had episodes where she's insecure and will bark and run away, as long as she can approach them, she's great and almost instantly in love.   The undesirable side is she is determined to get her human love and will occasionally break Heel command and pull to greet a human.   Any leash pulling is minimal; dragging anyone or pulling them down.
She can be a pest with her demanding affection.  She wants to be with you all the time and I personally would manage it to avoid any separation anxiety.  For someone who loves it, they will enjoy her constantly touching and licking them.

She has decent Prey drive:  The good - loves to chase, tug and hunt - she's curious and when confronted with inanimate things that she's unsure of, she will go back and investigate.
The undesirable - will chase cats or other small animals if left unsupervised.  She has not chased any animal on our walks, structured or otherwise.
Will investigate and get into things if left unattended, while she has not gotten into the trash, the dishwasher or counter/ table surfed, she is very interested!!

She is athletic, she can move fast, jump high and is not concerned with water.  She will step right into the river whenever we go - I have not assessed swimming.
She loves to chase and tug with a jolly ball, she can get the zoomies and unless you've established some personal space boundaries, she may run into you - so this must be managed around those that could get hurt - children/ elderly etc.  It is very easily managed with down stays and keeping energy calm.
She has not attempted to escape our 6ft fence and is happy to lay down near you if you don't put her in place when relaxing outside.  When working outside, she will follow you around or investigate the yard.

She loves car rides.   She can go out in public and work around other dogs, cats or other small animals and people with no problems.   She has been to the park and been able to calmly walk by dogs that are barking and lunging at us, and ignoring squirrels and cats.

She has been offering her paw since she arrived.  This could be a calming signal, or she could have been loved enough at one time to have been taught Shake.  She does it on her own and anytime you hold out your hand which is why I'm thinking it was taught.  We've attached the verbal "Shake", so she will also do it on command.

She is crate trained and able to be calm in the crate, tho she will whine occasionally - mostly I think around feeding time or if she needs to go out.

She is amazing with grooming.  She will stand still for nail clips and tolerate baths, both inside and outside.

She has eaten poop in the past, I've been watching her and addressing it, but it may pop up again if left unattended.

She will make someone a great companion as long as they continue to give her the guidance and accountability she needs to follow the rules of their home.
Without the appropriate guidance and accountability, she could harm a cat or dog, bark at all the things or get into stuff like any other dog!

I also will guarantee training support for her life, along with the option to board her with me if needed, something I only offer for dogs who have trained with me.
Whomever adopts her will have access to me via email/ phone, my monthly classes or pack walks to get support and maintain her training.

A fully trained sweet as pie dog with manners and lifetime training support!!
